With the Bigg Boss Season 5 expected to start in October on Colors, majority of the General Entertainment channels are leaving no stone unturned to ensure their viewers' allegiance doesn't get shifted.
So while a few channels are trying to launch new reality shows, there are a few who are considering the idea to rope in popular names. And one name which tops their preference list is Dolly Bindra. It was essentially the actor's signature style which impressed the viewers in Bigg Boss which earned her a reentry in the show.
If rumors are anything to go by, Dolly was also asked to do "Armanon Ka Balidaan Arakshan" because the show failed to earn any TRPs. So do TRPs thrive on Dolly Bindra? Says a source, "Yes. Since the channels need higher TRPs, they want to give offering interesting roles to Dolly. She is in the process of reading scripts."

Dolly Bindra was seen in a bad mood at the BIG television awards held recently, after becoming a target of some jokes by Raju Shrivastav, Kapil and Manish Paul.
A source reveals “Dolly was furious after being referred to as Ramdev baba ki behen by the actors and after hearing some other jokes that were cracked about her.”
Dolly when contacted reveals “My main point is that these standup comedians should respect women. They forget this when cracking jokes. They are only bothered about themselves and that their act should be funny. Raju bhaiya is such a senior comedian and I had not expected such behavior from him. However I have spoken to Raju as I consider him as my brother. I explained to Raju bhaiya that I did not find the jokes funny and what the problem was. I have nothing personal against newcomers like Kapil but they should know how to behave on stage.”
The actress adds “I am a happy go lucky person and have been taking jokes from the time since I came out from the Bigg Boss house but there is a limit. I am not going to take nonsense. Just because I hate corruption it does not make me Ramdev baba’s sister. There is a certain tone in which one should speak about other people and they should know where to draw the line. The way Raju, Manish and Kapil spoke really offended me and I threatened to come up on the stage, right in between the event. However I decided not to give them any more importance. Overall the function was nice and I did a lot of dhamaal. I enjoy masti mazaak but not when it gets offensive. You can’t expect Dolly Bindra to laugh 24/7. Even I have my mood swings and I can’t always take jokes at my expense.”
As an afterthought Dolly says “I am open and frank and I like to be myself. I have never needed to be artificially nice and I cannot do it. I was blunt and straightforward in Bigg Boss because at that time it was what the circumstances demanded. I am thankful to God that I do not require to change for anyone in this world.”
Dolly seems to be a hot topic among standup comedians. The actress shares another recent incident which had her fuming. Dolly says “Rajiv Thakur from Comedy Circus recently performed an act where he said ‘Dolly baap ka naam lena nahi chahti.’ I called Rajiv and blasted him after which he tried to put the blame on the writers of the show. I also called up producer Vipul Shah and fired the whole team. Vipul said that they will air an apology in the next episode. I don’t mind jokes but there should be some decency.”
Dolly recently appeared on Ratan Ka Rishta where she tested the actress’s prospective grooms. While Ram Kapoor was Rakhi ke bhaiya in Swayamwar season 1, this time we have apni chukbuli Dolly Bindra who will be playing the role of Ratan Rajput's sister on the show helping her choose the right man as her life partner.
And after making a hilarious entry on the elephant, Dolly made the atmosphere quite ghambhir, of course with her looks and with her list of questions for all the contenders of Ratan's dulhe raja. "I am taking my role of Ratan's sister very seriously. All said and done, this is not about me or my life.

Insano ne dosti nahi kari toh kya hua...janwar abhi baaki hai mere dost! Well, while human beings might not have liked Dolly Bindra, the haathis (yes,m the elephants!) are certainly loving her!
You read it right! Dolly Bindra recently shot for her entry on the show " Ratan Ka Rishta" which will soon be aired on Imagine TV sitting on an elephant. "When I couldn't control my laughter hearing my entry on the show, I know how hilarious it might be sounding to everyone around me. I was zapped to know the way the channel wanted me to enter the show. I mean of all the animals alive, a haathi?" she bursts out in laughter. But yeh dosti itni aasan nahi thi. "I have never ever given so many re takes for a scene jitne maine iske liye diye. The elephant was just not ready to take me on his back. Every time I used to sit on his back , he would sit down and would not get up. Finally, I don't know what came into my mind I brought a few bananas and offered him. It was then he agreed to become my saathi for the entry," she adds.
And though the haathi was her saathi now, Dolly got scared with the view sitting on his back. "I started shouting and asked for bouncers and all sorts of safety measures on the sets. I kept asking them what if I fall down? Who will rescue me? Will I be alive? I started bugging the channel people on the safety issues. And finally after a lot of convincing, I agreed for the shot! Now both of us are very dear friends," laughs Dolly.

She has never been known for her sense of fashion, but we weren’t really surprised to see Dolly Bindra at the Lakme Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2011. After all, celebrities — A-list to Z-list — do end up attending a show or two. And Dolly is a celebrity of no small stature. The explosive actress was a special guest at young designer Sabah Khan’s show and at the post-show conference, talked extensively to the camera crews about herself. We’re not sure Khan should be too happy about that: Dolly may not be a Kareena Kapoor, but she sure knows to steal the limelight.

Mumbai: Her acting career dates back to Buniyaad, but it was with Bigg Boss Season 4 that she grabbed the headlines with her over-the-top avatar. Dolly Bindra talks about life after the reality show and her role in Armanon Ka Balidaan - Aarakshan.
How has life been after Bigg Boss?
Of late, I have been a little upset as someone has hacked into my Twitter and Facebook accounts. I don’t know why people keep attempting such pranks.
There has been a lot of suspense built around the serial that you'll be cast in...I believe that the makers of Armanon Ka Balidaan Aarakshan and Ram Milayi Jodi had approached you, but you were to decide one among the two. Which serial have you finalised?
I will be seen in Armanon Ka Balidaan Aarakshan.
What’s your role in the soap?
I play a character called Kabootari Mai. (Laughs) Yeh role zaraa-sa hatke hain. I think the makers were inspired by me while I was in the Bigg Boss house.
If you watched the show, you’d realise that I would often say ‘Tote udd gaye’. Probably they thought that I was fond of birds, so they named my character Kabootari Mai.
In the serial, I play the mother-in-law of the female protagonist, Sumedha. I’m forthright, outspoken and a strong-headed character, who does not tolerate nonsense. Kabootari Mai runs a family business of funeral services.
She refuses to accept Sumedha as her daughter-in-law and is only convinced to do so in lieu of a hefty sum of money. However, this does not stop her from making Sumedha’s life extremely difficult.
That sounds similar to your avatar in Bigg Boss.
Yes, but that’s what I’m in my real life too.
You are also sporting a different look in the serial replete with a teeka and a sari. It’s quite unlike your usual casual look.
That’s true. Since my character is zaraa hatke, the look also had to be different. But the makers had taken my inputs while conceiving it. I’m sure that the audiences will love my look in the show.
You have been a part of the television industry for long. How has the journey been?
It’s been wonderful. Not many know that I was a part of Ramesh Sippy’s Buniyaad. I have also worked in Kutumb, Kaahin Kissi Roz, Kya Hadsaa Kya Haqeeqat, Hum Sab Ek Hain and Kahiin To Hoga to name a few. Among the more recent ones, there’s Maniben.com on Sab TV. There has been a gap after Maniben.com but acting in Armanon Ka Balidaan Aarakshan will just be an extension of my stint with serials.
What should the audience expect in the serial post your entry?
They can expect a lot of entertainment. My entry itself will spice up things. It is a great show and I hope I can make it even more interesting and intriguing. I play a strong character who is an intrinsic part of the story. I hope the audience accepts me and supports me as they have done in the past.
When do you plan to start shooting?
As soon as we wrap up the interview!

"Big Boss-4 fame Dolly Bindra will soon be seen in a TV show on Imagine TV . Imagine TV is starting a new show very soon. The name of the show is “Aarmanao Ka Balidan ” dolly
Dolly Bindra said in a recent interview about her new Imagine TV serial that, “she will play the role of “Kamotri Maiya” in that show. Dolly Bindra also said that she like that role very much even before she was offered to play that role. Dolly Bindra also said that this is really such a nice serial but i will make it more interesting after my entry in the serial. The wrestler, who recently appeared on 'Bigg Boss 4', may not be talking directly, but he’s proving his point by issuing a statement to the media.
Khali stated, “I am deeply saddened to hear of this incident and am disappointed it has been incorrectly reported that I was involved. I had left my friend's house a half an hour before the reported shooting took place and did not have any bodyguards with me. My thoughts and prayers go out to the people who were injured.”

It happened near Punjab Vidhan Sabha deputy speaker, Sat Pal Gosain's home, when the star was returning home after meeting him. Eyewitnesses claimed that it was Khali and no one else who told his men to shoot at the mob.
Apparently, Khali has expressed his resentment through the statement, and said that he’s being blamed for something, which he hasn’t done. And all this has left him rattled.
On the other hand, the police are investigating the matter. They have registered a criminal case, but have not named anyone in the First Information Report (FIR). The cops are mum on the issue and are not revealing anything stating that it might hamper the probe.

On Monday, a delegation met the commissioner of police Ishwar Singh and demanded a stern action against the culprit.

DOLLY BINDRA PLANING TO VISIT 2 FANS SHOT BY KHALIS BODYGUARDS
New Delhi: WWE wrestler and one of India’s biggest celebrity Dalip Singh alias The Great Khali’s bodyguards opened fire on his fans when they tried to get photographed with him. The Bigg Boss 4 runner up was on a visit to Ludhiana when this incident happened. Two people are said to have been moved to the hospital with one being critically injured.
Excited by the presence of their favorite wrestling star the fans had gathered outside the house of Gosain. They wanted to get their photographs clicked with the wrestling star. Few of them went inside the house of Gosain to get their photographs clicked but were refused.
Later when Khali came out the fans jostled with his bodyguards to get near their favourite star but as the bodyguards resisted this move a scuffle ensued. The bodyguards had to open fire and several rounds were fired injuring a few fans, one of them seriously.
An eyewitness, Rajan said that at first the bodyguards fired in the air to scare the fans away but soon after fired directly injuring two people. He further added that instead of taking action against Khali’s bodyguards the police threatened to register cases against the people who were protesting against the firing.
Khali's vehicle was stoned by the mob.

"I have barely seen it and prefer to keep myself away from all this. But I do get updates from people and via email about the happenings. Anil Kumar Singh's Aryan TV Channel Launch in Patna
He came, he met and he conquered fans! Superstar Sunny Deol, sporting the new adorable Sardarji look of his forthcoming film "Amla Pagla Deewana”, launched technocrat Anil Kumar Singh's Aryan Channel in Patna, heart of the Hindi belt. Accompanying him in this unique rare feat attempted by any channel in the region were several other Bollywood and Bhojpuri stars including Raju Shrivastav and Bhojpuri superstar Manoj Tiwari.
The event was organized to mark the inauguration of the Aryan News Channel, a unit of the Pataliputra Group of Companies, at the Sanskrit Vidyapeeth premises in Raja Bazaar. Anil Kumar Singh's Aryan Channel of Starzshowz LLC was overwhelmed with the rocking response the launch got. Kaizaad Kermani also of Starzshowz LLC ensured a great show. Sporting blue jeans and a blue shirt along with the traditional Sikh turban, Deol, the son of yesteryear's superstar Dharmendra, mixed freely with the audience while impressing them with dialogues from his past films. Sunny Deol looked cool in a jeans and a shirt while Dolly Bindra wore a green stole with a kurta and looked cute. They both bonded really well.
Aryan is the local news channel launched in Bihar and Jharkhand. The channel aims at providing an exciting blend of news, views and entertainment. It will offer the right blend of Hindi and Bhojpuri compelling content to the locals. Amidst the 20,000 people who were frenzied in delight as they set sight on the Bollywood and Bhojpuri superstars, Sunny Deol rocked in Patna.
A delighted Sunny, said, “I am glad being in Patna and I ma delighted to see the efforts Dolly and ail have put into organizing this wonderful and enigmatic event. This has given me the opportunity to once again connect with my fans. And the response here has been tremendous. I hope the Aryan channel will show the truth.”
